Raja Ghanem founded Cognesium Biomed LLC to help medtech companies in their quest to raise capital, expand their business and/or get their products and solutions to market. He spent over 16 years in the medical device industry working on Class III and Class I cardiovascular medical devices.
As a business leader, Raja spent several years in product planning, product management and marketing. He evaluated white space opportunities to drive growth for the cardiac rhythm management business at Medtronic. He also led upstream marketing activities related to new product development in the cardiac rhythm management (Medtronic) and vascular surgery (Endologix) segments. Raja also executed global launches, market development and clinical marketing initiatives to drive revenue growth. He also established the 5 year roadmap and strategic plan for Medtronic's noninvasive cardiac mapping technology.
As a technical leader, Raja has deep expertise in signal processing, algorithm development, cardiac mapping, bench, pre-clinical and clinical research. Raja spent several years leading cross functional teams responsible for developing novel sensing and detection algorithms for implantable cardioverter defibrillator. He also was responsible for managing academic collaborations with key institutions looking at developing and implementing novel markers for identifying patients at risk of sudden cardiac death.
Raja has 32 issued patents (link) and has co-authored several peer-reviewed scientific publications (Pubmed). Raja has an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
